page made for individuals who study or work in the fields of economics and finance, as it readdresses and puts emphasis on specific terminologies, concepts and techniques. The word "reconfine" means setting boundaries for something—in this case, filtering out unnecessary information and focusing on important knowledge. As Social Design is a relatively new discipline, its nature often remains unclear to the public and even other design students. This exhibition maps out the methods and approaches social design students use in their work. Design the "BEFOREs" of design means shaping the institutions, conditions, paradigms, and frameworks of a design. Design the "AFTERs" of design means responding to the changes, incompletions, new associations, and unintended consequences of a design. In essence, what we typically consider the beginning of a design process isn't truly the start, and what we view as the end isn't really the conclusion. This exhibition illuminates how social design students approach these "Befores" and "Afters," featuring examples of their community projects with Hong Kong locals. The exhibition's typographic identity underscores our often-overlooked "befores" and "afters" of design, symbolized by dotted lines intertwining with solid ones.
